Old House Restoration:
Massachusetts Colonial Home Restoration
This riverfront colonial in Merrimac MA dates back to 1702. Built to withstand raids from Indians, it was no match for over 300 years of water damage, insects and ineffective "patches" by previous contractors.
The owners wanted to bring this home back to its original structural integrity while preserving the unique features of the home. Months of structural repair work were required to address issues from rotted and nonexistent footings to the roof.
This home has a long and colorful history of ghost activity. Generations of homeowners have each reported seeing the images of two children and their mother, reportedly killed by Indians hundreds of years ago. <<Watch more on the ghost story>>
The Daily News of Newburyport featured this historic home renovation.
